Categories: Concerti

Sun Tzu said in his book The Art of War, which […] Anyone can be defined as, and whatever may be defined can be overcome. […]. La Band Bundu creates an LP where, for the second time, define’s clearly who is the common enemy that must be fought to achieve citizenship status with dignity and does so through what he does best: music. Dr. Maynovi and his entourage of electronic samurais, as if it were the same as popularized Akira Kurosawa, plan a strategy based fighter beats, rock band, vinyls and Catalan folk instrumentation.

The Bundu Band comes from the mind of Dr. Maynovi (Albert Maynou) when parallel Skafam band, where he played percussion, gralla and began to experiment with new combinations of electronics and gralla same in his private studio, start to take shape until the first tracks of what became La Bundu Band by incorporating Rufi (guitar), Garbo (bass) and Dj Willow.

After a first self published work in 2010, Rebel Guerrer now show Cat Samurai under the Kasba electronic seal’s: New Beats. With clear influences from electronic European mestizo or committed Catalan music. La Bundu Band weaves his own conglomerate based musical beats, guitars and grallas. Under the production and expertise Chalart58 (La Kinky Beat), the squadron was joined by other warriors who will share with them this long journey: Alex (Eina), Miquel Sarrià Gironès and Xavi (Obrint Pas), Gato-the-Qiman, In*Digna, Miriam Matahary (La Kinky Beat), Rude Hi-Fi, Fermin Muguruza and Dubmatix.

La Bundu Band pulls the katanas to fight a battle against indifference, intolerance, cynicism, mediocrity and social injustice. Drum’n’bass, jungle, dub, reggae, folk, rap, rock and punk come together in an album full of energy and force both in substance and in form.
